Our Challenge
As NGP Capital evolved alongside a rapidly shifting tech landscape, its existing brand identity no longer reflected the firm’s ambition, team caliber, or market-leading expertise. In a crowded VC landscape, a stronger, more distinct presence was needed to communicate its differentiated value. In Q3 2022, NGP Capital engaged Wunderdogs to redefine its brand: from strategic foundation to visual identity and digital execution.
Defining a narrative to differentiate
We began by addressing the core challenge: how to stand out in a saturated venture market. Grounded in NGP Capital’s thesis of “converging worlds,” we developed a brand strategy centered on unleashing the transformative power of technology. The new narrative articulates the firm’s unique value to founders and partners—bridging technical rigor with a human-centered approach to innovation.
Designing a visual identity with strategic depth
To express the strategy visually, we created a system built on interlacing shapes—circles representing humanity and squares representing technology. These elements appear throughout the brand system, forming distinctive patterns, animation elements, and image frames. A bold color palette and strong typography were introduced to convey energy, confidence, and a modern point of view.
Bringing the brand into digital
The redesigned website serves as a dynamic platform that brings the new brand to life. We reduced noise by simplifying copy and emphasizing bold, strategic messaging. Integrated motion and animation create a sense of movement and momentum—reinforcing the firm’s role at the intersection of people and technology. The result is a digital experience that reflects both NGP Capital’s thesis and its evolving global impact.
I really loved that both co-founders at Wunderdogs had worked in-house at VCs. There's a lot of nuance in our industry. For an external agency that doesn't understand the business model of a venture capital firm, that initial learning process might take longer than you want. Wunderdogs work as thought partners, not just pushing their ideas but really understanding what's important to the organization as a whole.
